Slim pickings this week, the only new release showing locally is seeking a friend for the end of the world – the directorial début of Lorene Scafaria (Nick & Norah Infinite Playlist, writer). Between the two hosts, it’s a healthy recommendation. The other new review was for Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, which finally saw release after its bizarre opening pattern.
In take two, we looked at the release of the 1980s British sports classic Chariots of Fire, in preparation for the upcoming Olympics. It disappoints. Elsewhere in the section, Rob took the opportunity to look at Alfonso Cuaron’s chillingly real sci-fi adventure, Children of Men. Elsewhere there is the usual news, box office charts and new DVD releases for your weekly fill.
